Popular in luxury homes during the 70`s and 80`s, corner gas fireplaces are set to make a strong comeback in 2019, but this time, they`re totally frameless. Available in two-sided and three-sided perspectives, designers and architects are using corner gas fireplaces in contemporary homes to define open concept living areas and to create eye-catching ambience.
The incomparable joy of gathering around a fire with your loved ones or reflecting in solitude on the crackling flames will never go out of style. We may live in seductively convenient times, but some things simply can`t be replaced. The fireplaces of today not only celebrate what connects us to our early brothers, but continue to earn their rightful place as modern heirlooms for generations to come.
Talk about having presence! The combination of heavy dark wood and delicate glass create an intriguing atmosphere, making your home feel comfortable and ultra-modern at the same time. The unique shape of this modern fireplace provides storage for your fuel while also evoking a piece of modern art. The elevation of the fire itself makes cleaning much easier than the standard hands-and-knees affair, while your extra wood is beautifully displayed and within reach. It goes perfectly with minimalistic furniture and natural wood floors, while small pops of color and whimsical home decor keep this fireplace from seeming too austere.
Shake things up at home by painting an old, red brick fireplace a bold and unexpected shade. Jennifer, the crafty do-it-yourselfer behind The Suburb Experiment, pulled off the look of Staffordshire brick, which is a gorgeous shade of blue, using paint. The trick behind this project is using paint to tint the bricks instead of thickly covering them with flat color. To do the blogger combined one part blue paint and one part white paint with around four parts of water. Then she applied the homemade color wash to each brick using a brush. Then, before the paint dried, she wiped off the excess color using a clean, dry rag.
